Payette Land Trust is pleased to announce the inaugural PLT Shindig
Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Glass House, McCall
Exhibition & Sale of Original Art by Premiere Idaho Artists Who Celebrate and Honor Nature Through Their Work! Supporting Land Conservation in West Central Idaho, 50% of proceeds will be donated to PLT.
Introducing the one literary artist and five visual artists who are collaborating with PLT to make this Shindig happen:
CMarie Fuhrman is the author of Camped Beneath the Dam: Poems and co-editor of Cascadia:
Art, Ecology, and Poetry and Native Voices: Indigenous Poetry, Craft, and Conversations. She
has published or forthcoming poetry and nonfiction in multiple journals and anthologies.
CMarie is an award winning columnist for the Inlander and Director of the Elk River Writers
Workshop. She is Associate Director and Director of Poetry at Western Colorado University,
where she teaches nature writing. CMarie is the host of Terra Firma. She resides in the Salmon River
Mountains of Idaho. See CMarie’s work.
Mary Arnold is a expressionistic/Fauvist painter, born and raised in Idaho. She uses bright colors, not tied to representational colors in nature, to convey the energy of the subject. Mary is passionate about the west, conservation, balanced land stewardship and animals, both domestic and wildlife. She is the 2023-24 Artist in Residence for the Payette Land Trust. See Mary’s work.
I have been painting throughout my life and now work part time as an artist, showing my art at Gallery 55 in McCall. My work is inspired by my outdoor adventures enjoyed all over the west. Color has taken over the images I capture in Acrylic medium. I worked over 40 years for the Forest Service in Recreation and Wilderness Management in Colorado, New Mexico and Idaho. See Jane’s Work.
Working on site and from life whenever possible, Claire celebrates natural or man-made forms and patterns, found in land and waters, architecture, still life, and the animal kingdom. Though her artwork varies, a central theme is bringing the preciousness of our natural world to the viewing audience. Claire is Payette Land Trust’s 2023 BIG HEART Artist. See Claire’s work.
An acclaimed professional artist for many years, Valeria’s artwork has been on display throughout North America. Valeria takes photographs and does field studies that provide information for her strongly contrasted and brightly colored paintings. Working predominately in acrylic, she takes a great deal of care to depict her subjects and their habitats accurately. See Valeria’s work.
